CHICAGO – Sophomore midfielder Amar Sejdic was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week after leading No. 1 Maryland to a pair of wins against Northwestern and San Diego last week.
Sejdic scored two goals while tallying a pair of assists on the week. The sophomore scored the second goal of the match and assisted on the first and third to lead Maryland at Northwestern as it topped the Wildcats for the first time since entering the Big Ten in 2014.
His penalty kick score gave Maryland an insurance goal in a physical contest against San Diego Monday night. He boasts four goals for the Terps this season and currently ranks second in the conference in points (12).
This is the second Offensive Player of the Week award for the Louisville, Ky., native. It is the third honor for a Terp this season (Gordon Wild, 2)
Maryland plays host to Ohio State on Friday at 7 p.m. at Ludwig Field on the Big Ten Network.
