Terps in the NFL: Week 8

By Ryan Satsky, Maryland Athletics Communications

Stefon Diggs is back in action! After enduring a slow month of October overcoming a groin injury, the Vikings' stud wide receiver returned to prominence with an impressive performance on Monday Night.

Diggs was clearly Minnesota's top threat in the passing game, hauling in eight receptions for 76 yards and a late-game touchdown to keep the game alive for the Vikings.

The former Maryland standout leads the Vikings in both catches (35) and receiving yards (466).

Once again, Redskins tight end Vernon Davis topped his previous season-high in receiving yards, as he grabbed five catches totaling 93 yards in a 27-27 tie to the Bengals.

During the game, Davis jumped to 12th place on the all-time receiving yards list amongst tight ends, passing Jeremy Shockey.

We're also sending our best wishes to Seahawks rookie Quinton Jefferson, who is headed to season-ending injured reserve after undergoing knee surgery this week.

Elsewhere in the NFL:

· Colts linebacker D'Qwell Jackson recorded six tackles, including one tackle for a four-yard loss, in a 30-14 loss to the Chiefs.

· Eagles cornerback Nolan Carroll registered two tackles and a pass defensed in a 23-29 loss to the Cowboys.

· Texans kicker Nick Novak was perfect in a 20-13 win over the Lions, nailing each of his two field goal attempts and two extra point attempts.
