LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The fifth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (4-0) will take on No. 21 Arizona State (2-1) Friday at 4 p.m. ET in the South Point Shootout at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. The Terps will play Washington State (2-1) Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Freshman Destiny Slocum was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week Monday for her first career weekly honor. Senior Brionna Jones was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll for the sixth time in her career.

Slocum averaged 14.3 points with 4.7 assists in the Terrapins' three wins on the week. She shot 54.2 percent (13-24) from the field and 50.0 percent (9-18) from outside the arc. In Sunday's game at Niagara, Slocum led the Terrapins with 25 points off five three-pointers and dished seven assists in the win.

Jones averaged 68.8 percent from the field with 17.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals on the week. She picked up her first double-double of the year and 24th of her career vs. Mount St. Mary's with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

This is Maryland's first-ever matchup with Arizona State and first trip to Las Vegas since the 1978-79 season.

The Terps are currently leading the country in rebounding (+26.0) and assists (26.3). They are second in scoring (102.0) and third in field goal percentage (.533).

The Terrapins are ranked No. 6 in the latest Associated Press poll and No. 5 in the USA Today Division I Coaches poll.

After the South Point Shootout, the Terps will play at No. 4 Louisville (6-0) Thursday, Dec. 1 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge at the KFC Yum! Center. Maryland and Louisville will tip off at 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed on the ACC Digital Network.
