
#1 Maryland Set for B1G Tournament Quarters Sunday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The top-seeded Maryland men's soccer team will play host to No. 8 Michigan on Sunday at 4 p.m. in quarterfinal action of the 2016 Big Ten Tournament at Ludwig Field.

• Maryland will look to make it five tourney championships in a row as it begins postseason play in the Big Ten Tournament Sunday afternoon.
• Gordon Wild, Alex Crognale and Cody Niedermeier claimed top Big Ten men's soccer honors while Sasho Cirovski was named 2016 Big Ten Coach of the Year, the league announced Friday. Wild was tabbed Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Crognale and Niedermeier garnered Defensive and Goalkeeper of the Year honors, respectively. In addition, Wild, Crognale and Niedermeier were tabbled to the All-Big Ten First Team, joining teammates Chris Odoi-Atsem and Amar Sejdic. Suli Dainkeh and Eryk Williamson each snagged second team honors. Rookie defender Donovan Pines landed on the All-Freshman Team.
• Maryland's winning streak now sits at 12 games, its longest stretch since the 2012 campaign when the Terps won 13 straight. The Terps have not lost since falling to Ohio State in Columbus on Oct. 31, 2015 – a stretch of 22-straight matches. Maryland is off to its best start in program history.
• Senior Suli Dainkeh's goal with 1:01 remaining in double overtime completed a valiant comeback last Sunday as the No. 1 Maryland men's soccer team capped its undefeated regular season with a win at Michigan, 3-2, its last time out.
