
Jones, SWK Named to Wooden Preseason Top 30

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Seniors Brionna Jones and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough of the fourth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team were named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 30 watch list Thursday.

Walker-Kimbrough is currently leading Maryland in scoring with 16.4 points per game, with Jones right behind her at 15.0 points per contest. Jones is also averaging 9.6 boards per game.
Both were named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team. They were also ranked in ESPNW's top 25 players in the country, with Jones coming in at No. 16 and Walker-Kimbrough at No. 4.
Last season, Jones led the country with her field goal percentage of 66.5 percent and is shooting 67.9 percent so far this year. Last year, Walker-Kimbrough led the nation and set a Big Ten record with her three-point field goal percentage of 54.5 percent. She is shooting 50.0 percent from outside the arc this year.
Maryland will close a three-game homestand with a 6:30 p.m. matchup vs. Saint Peter's (1-6) Thursday night at the XFINITY Center.

The Terps are currently leading the country in field goal percentage (51.1%). They are second in the nation in scoring (93.0), scoring margin (+37.6), rebounding margin (+19.4) and assists (21.8).
Walker-Kimbrough is No. 8 on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 1,647 career points, recently passing Marcia Richardson (1,630 career points). She needs 33 points to passt Christy Winters Scott at No. 7 with 1,679 points. Walker-Kimbrough's career three-point percentage of 46.5% is currently the best in Maryland history ahead of Kristi Toliver's career percentage of 40.8%. Jones is No. 8 on Maryland's rebounding list with 915 career boards. Only seven previous Terps have reached the 900 career rebound mark.
The Terrapins are ranked No. 4 in the Associated Press poll and in the USA Today Division I Coaches poll.
