COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Sophomore guard Kristen Confroy of the No. 5/7 Maryland women's basketball team was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team for District 2 Thursday. For the full list, click here.
The neurobiology major currently owns a GPA of 3.78 and has started in the last 14 games for the Terrapins (21-3, 10-2 B1G). She is averaging 8.2 points per game with 4.0 rebounds this season.
Confroy is shooting 42.7 percent (50-117) from outside the arc, which is top 20 in the country, and tied the school record with eight three-pointers made vs. Northwestern last month.
Earlier this week, juniors Brionna Jones and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough were named to the Naismith Midseason List. Redshirt senior Brene Moseley was named one of 10 candidates for the Nancy Lieberman Award, which is given to the nation's top point guard.
