LOS ANGELES – Juniors Brionna Jones and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough of the sixth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (23-3, 12-2 B1G) were named to the John R. Wooden Award Women's Late Season Top 20 List Wednesday.
Jones and Walker-Kimbrough are two of the nation's top 20 outstanding student-athletes who are the frontrunners for college basketball's most prestigious individual honor at roughly two-thirds of the way through the 2015-16 season. The list is chosen by a poll of national women's college basketball media members and was announced on ESPNW.
The final ballot will consist of 15 players who have proven to their universities that they are making progress toward graduation and are maintaining at least a cumulative 2.0 GPA. The Wooden Award All-American Team, consisting of the nation's top five players, will be announced the week of the Final Four.
Three schools have two players on the list: Maryland, Ohio State (Ameryst Alston and Kelsey Mitchell) and South Carolina (Tiffany Mitchell and A'ja Wilson). The Big Ten leads all conferences with seven selections. Click here for the full list.
Jones and Walker-Kimbrough have played in 98 consecutive games for the Terrapins, every game of their careers. Walker-Kimbrough is averaging 19.7 points per game and 5.3 boards. They lead the Terps in scoring and rebounding. Jones is averaging 15.0 points and 9.7 rebounds.
Jones is currently leading the country with her field goal percentage of 66.9 percent and Walker-Kimbrough is leading the nation with her three-point field goal percentage of 57.3 percent.
Maryland will host Michigan (15-10, 7-7) Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. Wednesday's game will be Maryland's annual Play4Kay Pink Game for breast cancer awareness.

Maryland is ranked No. 6 in the latest Associated Press poll and No. 7 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll.
After Wednesday's game, the Terrapins will travel to Rutgers (16-10, 7-7) for a 3 p.m. matchup Sunday on ESPN2.
