No.75 Maryland ended their road trip in Louisiana with a match against Tulane this Tuesday at the City Park Pepsi Tennis Center in New Orleans.
The Terps lost to Tulane, 4-2, falling to 1-4 this Spring season.
The match started strong for the Terrapins, winning the doubles play point. Nataliya Bredikhina and Carolina Williams defeated Tulane's Meredith Maltby and Jacqui Katz 6-2 on court three, followed by an Alexandra Stanova and Kristina Hovsepyan 6-3 win over Sade Atkinson and Ipek Birol to seal the point for Maryland.
Maryland's momentum continued when they closed down the first singles match on the first court where Arnelle Sullivan came out on top, 6-0 and 6-2 over Naz Karagoz.
Tulane hit their stride, getting their their first point from senior Ipek Birol over Alexandra Stanova (6-3, 6-1).
On court five Jacqui Katz stole the win from No.70 Ekaterina Tour in doubles with a 6-2 score. On the fourth court, Tulane's Elana Muller was down, 3-4 in the first set before setting up a comeback when she faced Nataliya Bredikhna (6-3,6-2).
Tulane Junior Kyla Klier won the winning point and closed the match by defeating N. Bredikhina,(6-3, 6-2).
Maryland will travel to Boston to play against Harvard on Saturday, February 20th at 12pm, and Boston University on Sunday, February 21st at 11am.
