Box Score PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored 22 points and Brionna Jones added 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead No. 6 Maryland to a 73-59 win over Rutgers on Sunday.
Maryland (24-3, 13-2 Big Ten) led by one after the first quarter, then outscored the Scarlet Knights 20-8 in the second quarter to take control of the game. The Terrapins hit three straight 3-pointers to build a 34-21 lead at the half.
Brene Moseley got the period started with a 3 and then assisted on Kristen Confroy's 3-pointer at 7:34 to give Maryland a 19-13 lead. Walker-Kimbrough hit a three with 5:38 left in the half to give Maryland a 22-17 advantage.
Kahleah Copper had 23 points for Rutgers (16-12, 7-9). Tyler Sciafe added 11 points for the Scarlet Knights.
Jones notched her 14th double-double of the season while Walker-Kimbrough had her 27th double-figure scoring game.
Redshirt senior Brene Moseley is at 972 career points after Thursday's game. Jones and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough have played in 100 straight games.
Jones and Walker-Kimbrough were named to the Naismith Midseason List and the Wooden Late Season Top 20. Moseley is one of 10 candidates for the Nancy Lieberman Award, which is given to the nation's top point guard, and Confroy was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team.
Next, the Terrapins will return home to College Park to host the final two games of the regular season. They will welcome Wisconsin (7-19, 3-13) to the XFINITY Center for a 6:30 p.m. matchup Thursday.
Maryland will host Minnesota (18-9, 10-6) in the regular season finale on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. ET. The Terrapins will honor their four seniors – Malina Howard, Brene Moseley, Chloe Pavlech and Tierney Pfirman – prior to the game. The Malina Howard bobblehead will be given away and 500 lucky fans will win one.
