
Terps Host Albany in Top-10 Matchup

The 6th-ranked Maryland men's lacrosse is set to face #10 Albany for the first time in history Wednesday at 6 pm at Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium. Set to be broadcast live on ESPNU, the game presents an interesting matchup between one of the nation's best defenses (Maryland) and one of the nation's best offenses (Albany).

Facing off
• Maryland and Albany are set to meet for the first time in history Saturday. Albany head coach Scott Marr was an assistant coach at Maryland from 1995-2000 under Dick Edell. Maryland's defense is allowing just 8.0 goals/g, while Albany is averaging nearly 14 goals/g.
• The Terps have been phenomenal killing EMO opportunities this season, allowing just two goals on 14 chances (14.3 %). In addition to recently holding Princeton scoreless on two chances, the Terps held top-5 teams Yale (0-for-5) and Notre Dame (0-for-3) scoreless on the EMO, as well.
• Junior Colin Heacock has exploded for the Terps offensively in 2016, leading the team with 12 goals. Heacock has posted three hat tricks in five games, including a career-high four goals against Drexel (3/8) and three goals in the last game at Princeton (3/12).
• The Maryland offense was firing on all cylinders at Princeton, as 12 different Terrapins scored in the 17-5 win. It was the most goals for the Terps since scoring 19 at Robert Morris on April 2, 2014. Maryland scored five goals on its first five shots, and 16-of-29 (55%) through three quarters before resting many of its starters in the fourth quarter.
• Senior transfer Pat Young totaled 15 points over five previousmeetings with Albany during the past three years at UMBC. He has posted a hat trick (9 goals) in each of his last three meetings. Young has found his stride with the Terps, leading the team with four points (2G, 2A) at Princeton.
• Maryland head coach John Tillman is 19-11 in 30 career games against opponents ranked in the top-10 of the media poll during his time at Maryland. This includes a mark of 4-1 last season.
• The Terps are set to play their first home game in 25 days at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium after a four-game road swing. Maryland is 16-1 at home in the regular season since the start of the 2014 season.
• The Terrapins are 53-4 under John Tillman when scoring at least 10 goals in a game, including a spectacular mark of 34-1 over the last four seasons. That trend continued last week with Maryland's wins over Drexel (12-8) and Princeton (17-5).
• Junior Matt Rambo scored his 78th career goal against Princeton, moving into a tie for 24th all-time in Maryland history. He also ranks t-40th in points with 108. He is currently riding a 24-game point streak and a 17-game goal streak.

Coaching Match-Up
• John Tillman is in his ninth season as a head coach, and sixth with the Terps, with a 86-44 career record for a .662 winning percentage. Tillman is 66-25 (.722) as Maryland's head coach.
• Albany's Scott Marr is in his 16th season as head coach of the Great Danes. He was an assistant coach at Maryland from 1995-2000.

• This is the first meeting in history between Maryland and Albany.
Maryland routs Princeton
• The Maryland offense was on fire at Princeton, using 12 different goal scorers to cruise past the Tigers, 17-5. The Terps scored on their fist five shots on the game, as senior transfer Pat Young finished the game with four points on two goals and two assists. Colin Heacock posted his second consecutive hat trick, while Connor Kelly and Lucas Gradinger each tallied three points.
• The Terps were also strong on the defensive end against the Tigers, holding the home side to just five goals on the day. Kyle Bernlohr made nine saves in three quarters of action, allowing four goals.
Terps Down Drexel
• Maryland bounced back from a loss to top-ranked Notre Dame by powering past Drexel with a 12-8 victory Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
• The Terps were led by junior attackmen Colin Heacock (4G) and Matt Rambo (3G), who combined for seven goals to lead the Terps offensively. Isaiah Davis-Allen collected a career-high five ground balls in the win, while Kyle Bernlohr had nine saves in net.

• Since John Tillman took over the program in 2011, Maryland has won 53 of the 57 games in which it has scored 10 or more goals for a .930 winning percentage.
• The Terps have won 34 of their last 35 games when scoring at least 10 goals, only falling to Johns Hopkins during that streak in 2015.

TERPS' 91st SEASON OF LACROSSE
• The Terps boast an all-time record of 775-261-4 (.740), dating back to the first varsity team in 1924 (a team was not fielded in 1944 and 1945 due to World War II). Maryland has finished every one of its previous 90 seasons with a .500 or better record, including last season when the Terps went 15-4. The program reached the 700-win milestone with a 15-6 victory over Penn on April 14, 2009 at Ludwig Field.
• During the decade of the 2000s, Maryland went 111-49 for a .694 win percentage, making it the winningest decade in Terrapin lacrosse history. In the decade of the 1990s, Maryland posted a 95-47 record. The .669 winning percentage matched Maryland's win percentage of the 1980s when the Terps went 83-41 and also compiled a .669 win percentage.
• So far, Maryland is 53-17 in the 2010's for a .757 winning percentage - on pace for the best decade in Maryland history.
