COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's lacrosse junior defenseman Tim Muller has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the Big Ten Conference Tuesday.
Muller anchored a Maryland defensive unit that allowed just 13 total goals in road wins over Drexel and Princeton last week, including just five goals against the Tigers.
The Garden City, N.Y., native matched career-highs with four groundballs and two caused turnovers against Drexel. Muller currently leads the Terps with six caused turnovers and ranks tied for third on the team with 14 groundballs.
Muller and the Terps return to action Wednesday night at 6 pm as they host high-powered #10 Albany at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.
