Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio- Sarah Lang put together a 3-3 outing and the Terrapins totaled eight hits, but Maryland dropped the series finale to Ohio State, 13-4 in five innings.
In addition, Sarah Calta had another great day from the plate, going 2-3 with a RBI single.
To start the game, Ohio State used a three run home run by Erika Leonard to take a 3-0 lead.
The Terrapins got one back in the third by way of a Corey Schwartz RBI single that followed walks by Skylynne Ellazar and Sarah Calta to cut the deficit to 3-1.
Ohio State broke the game open in the bottom half of the third with eight runs on five hits off Brenna Nation and Hannah Dewey. The third inning burst made it 11-1 Buckeyes.
Maryland responded immediately in the top of the fourth. Sarah Lang singled, Destiney Henderson doubled, Skylynne Ellazar walked, and Sarah Calta knocked a RBI single. Then, with two outs, Lindsey Schmeiser took a 0-2 pitch up the middle to plate two and make it 11-4 Ohio State.
Madison Martin hurled a scoreless fourth before surrendering a walk-off home run in the fifth inning.
The Terrapins will be back in action next weekend against #24 Nebraska for a three-game series in College Park.
