Facing off

• Junior Tim Muller continued his dominance on the defensive end in the Terps' win over North Carolina, causing three turnovers. He currently leads the Big Ten with 1.57 caused turnovers/g and ranks fourth in ground balls (16).

• The Terps have been phenomenal killing EMO opportunities this season, allowing just four goals on 20 chances (20%) - a mark that ranks second in the nation. Among the strong showings were games against top-2 teams Yale (0-for-5) and Notre Dame (0-for-3).

• Junior Matt Rambo matched his career-high with four goals to help lead Maryland to a key 11-8 win over North Carolina Saturday. Despite allowing two goals in the final minute, the Terps still held Carolina 5.5 goals below their season average.

• Sophomore Connor Kelly put together the best game of his career against North Carolina, posting a career-high six points on three goals and three assists. He was involved in each of the Terps' first five goals. Kelly has two career hat tricks - both against UNC.

Matt Rambo and Dylan Maltz combined for nine points in Maryland's 11-7 victory over Penn last season. Rambo had three goals and two assists in the win, while Maltz had two goals and matched his career-high with two assists.

• Maryland holds a formidable 11-0 all-time record against Penn, including three documented victories in Philadelphia. Penn has scored more than eight goals just one time in the 11 meetings (2007). Maryland's first game in history as a varsity team came against Penn, 4-3, in 1924.

• The Terrapins have played extremely well in man-up situations, scoring on 50 percent of their opportunities (7-of-14). Senior Bryan Cole and junior Colin Heacock lead the way with a pair of man-up goals each.

• The Terrapins are 55-4 under John Tillman when scoring at least 10 goals in a game, including a spectacular mark of 36-1 over the last four seasons. That trend has continued this season with a perfect 5-0 mark.

• Maryland has received tremendous support and balance from its first two midfield lines, which have totaled 57 points through six games. The red midfield has posted 37 points (Cole/West/Kelly), while the gold midfield (Young, Rotanz, Gradinger) has added 20 points. The Terps' two midfield lines had just 44 points through seven games in 2015.

• Junior Matt Rambo scored his 84th career goal against North Carolina, moving past Brian Willard (1984-87) for 21st all-time in Maryland history. He also ranks 32nd in career points with 115. He is currently riding a 25-game point streak and a 18 game goal streak.

Coaching Match-Up

• Penn's Mike Murphy is in his seventh season as head coach of the Quakers.

Series history vs. Penn

• Maryland's series history against Penn is a special one, as the Quakers were the first opponent in Maryland's illustrious 90-year history. Maryland has won all 11 meetings in the series, including the first in 1924, 4-3.

• After meeting three teams between 1924 and 1930, Maryland and Penn restored the series for seven consecutive seasons between 2004 and 2010. The Terps dominated the Quakers during the seven-game stretch, winning by an average margin of seven goals.

• Penn visited College Park for the first time since 2010 last season, with the Terps controlling much of the game in the victory. Matt Rambo had three goals and two assists in the win, while Dylan Maltz chipped in with a pair of goals and assists of his own.

Dylan Maltz chipped in with a pair of goals and assists of his own.

Terps Take Care of Tar Heels

• Maryland took care of business against former ACC North Carolina on March 26, never trailing in a game it won 11-8. Despite allowing two Tar Heel goals in the final minute, the Terps still held the visitors 5.5 goals below their season average.

• Sophomore Connor Kelly had the best game of his career in the win, posting a career-high six points on three goals and three assists. Kelly has two hat tricks in his career - both coming against North Carolina. Matt Rambo also tied his career-high with four goals in the game.

Maryland routs Princeton

• The Maryland offense was on fire at Princeton, using 12 different goal scorers to cruise past the Tigers, 17-5. The Terps scored on their fist five shots on the game, as senior transfer Pat Young finished the game with four points on two goals and two assists. Colin Heacock posted his second consecutive hat trick, while Connor Kelly and Lucas Gradinger each tallied three points.

• The Terps were also strong on the defensive end against the Tigers, holding the home side to just five goals on the day. Kyle Bernlohr made nine saves in three quarters of action, allowing four goals.

Terps Down Drexel

• Maryland bounced back from a loss to top-ranked Notre Dame by powering past Drexel with a 12-8 victory Tuesday night in Philadelphia.

• The Terps were led by junior attackmen Colin Heacock (4G) and Matt Rambo (3G), who combined for seven goals to lead the Terps offensively. Isaiah Davis-Allen collected a career-high five ground balls in the win, while Kyle Bernlohr had nine saves in net.

• Since John Tillman took over the program in 2011, Maryland has won 55 of the 59 games in which it has scored 10 or more goals for a .932 winning percentage.

• The Terps have won 36 of their last 37 games when scoring at least 10 goals, only falling to Johns Hopkins during that streak in 2015.

Consecutive 10-Win Seasons

• Maryland's 11-10 win over 19th-ranked Loyola on April 8, 2015 extended the Terps' streak of double-digit win seasons to 13, which is the longest active streak in NCAA Division I men's lacrosse.

TERPS' 91st SEASON OF LACROSSE

• The Terps boast an all-time record of 775-261-4 (.740), dating back to the first varsity team in 1924 (a team was not fielded in 1944 and 1945 due to World War II). Maryland has finished every one of its previous 90 seasons with a .500 or better record, including last season when the Terps went 15-4. The program reached the 700-win milestone with a 15-6 victory over Penn on April 14, 2009 at Ludwig Field.

• During the decade of the 2000s, Maryland went 111-49 for a .694 win percentage, making it the winningest decade in Terrapin lacrosse history. In the decade of the 1990s, Maryland posted a 95-47 record. The .669 winning percentage matched Maryland's win percentage of the 1980s when the Terps went 83-41 and also compiled a .669 win percentage.

• So far, Maryland is 53-17 in the 2010's for a .757 winning percentage - on pace for the best decade in Maryland history.
