COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's lacrosse senior goalkeeper Kyle Bernlohr has been named Big Ten Specialist of the Week after a fantastic 14-save performance in the Terps' thrilling 11-10 overtime victory over Penn State.
The first team All-American Bernlohr pieced together arguably the best game of his career against the Nittany Lions, making a career-high 14 saves in net. Bernlohr made save after save to keep the Terps in the game, including a key overtime stop that led to the Terrapin game-winner.
The Akron, Ohio, native currently leads the Big Ten in goals against average (7.8) and ranks second in save percentage (55.3).
Bernlohr and the Terps return to action Saturday at 4 pm at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium when they host Rutgers. The game will follow the annual Red-White Spring football game.
