Facing off
• Maryland is set to host Rutgers in College Park for the first time since 1997. The Terps hold a formidable 24-1 all-time record against the Scarlet Knights dating back to 1931, including six straight wins since 1981.
• Senior Bryan Cole has scored a true game-winning goal in two straight games, becoming the first Terp to accomplish the feat in one-goal games since Matt Hahn in 1997. Cole scored a winner against Michigan two weeks ago, before posting the sudden victory goal in OT at Penn State.
• Senior Henry West stepped up in a big way for the Terps against Penn State, scoring the second hat trick of his career and first since 2014. He was also a key part of Bryan Cole's overtime winner, dishing the ball to Cole for the eventual goal.
• The Terps have been phenomenal killing EMO opportunities this season, allowing just five goals on 24 chances (20%) - a mark that ranks second in the nation. Among the strong showings were games against top-2 teams Yale (0-for-5) and Notre Dame (0-for-3).
• Maryland won its seventh consecutive game Sunday with a thrilling 11-10 overtime victory at Penn State. It is the third straight season the Terps have won at least seven consecutive games. Maryland is averaging 11.7 goals during the streak, while allowing just 7.6 goals. The Terps are currently ranked first in the NCAA RPI.
• The Terrapins are 8-0 in one-goal games dating back to May 10, 2014 - the best streak in program history. It includes two wins this season and five games in 2015. The next longest such streak was a span of six one-goal wins from 2000 to 2001.
• Senior Kyle Bernlohr pieced together arguably the best game of his career against the Nittany Lions, making a career-high 14 saves in net. Bernlohr made save after save to keep the Terps in the game, including a key overtime stop that led to the Terrapin game-winner. It was the most saves in a game since Niko Amato had 17 vs. Duke in 2014.
• Maryland's will be celebrating "Senior Day" Saturday, as it recognizes a group of 14 seniors that has won 46 games - a mark that already ranks tied for the fifth-most in program history. The Terps need just four more wins to tie the class record of 50 wins set by the 2015 senior class.
• The Terrapins are 57-4 under John Tillman when scoring at least 10 goals in a game, including a spectacular mark of 38-1 over the last four seasons. That trend has continued this season with a perfect 7-0 mark.
• Maryland has received tremendous support from its midfield lines, which have totaled 78 points through 10 games. The red midfield line (Cole/West/Kelly) has posted 57 points, which is equal to the output of its first two lines combined through 10 games last season.

• Maryland holds a 24-1 all-time advantage over Rutgers, including six straight wins in the series.
• The Big Ten foes met for the first time in 17 seasons last year, when the Terps defeated Rutgers, 9-8. Then-sophomore Matt Rambo was the difference, scoring all six of his points (3G, 3A) in the second half. His last goal was the biggest of the game, as he scored the game-winner with 13 seconds remaining.
• Maryland's lone loss to the Scarlet Knights came in 1980, when it fell, 9-8.

• Maryland (8-2, 2-0 B1G) trailed by four goals, 8-4, with 9:39 remaining in the second quarter, before holding the Nittany Lions to just two goals over the remainder of the game.

TERPS' 91st SEASON OF LACROSSE
• The Terps boast an all-time record of 775-261-4 (.740), dating back to the first varsity team in 1924 (a team was not fielded in 1944 and 1945 due to World War II). Maryland has finished every one of its previous 90 seasons with a .500 or better record, including last season when the Terps went 15-4. The program reached the 700-win milestone with a 15-6 victory over Penn on April 14, 2009 at Ludwig Field.
• During the decade of the 2000s, Maryland went 111-49 for a .694 win percentage, making it the winningest decade in Terrapin lacrosse history. In the decade of the 1990s, Maryland posted a 95-47 record. The .669 winning percentage matched Maryland's win percentage of the 1980s when the Terps went 83-41 and also compiled a .669 win percentage.
• So far, Maryland is 53-17 in the 2010's for a .757 winning percentage - on pace for the best decade in Maryland history.
