COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's lacrosse senior Greg Danseglio has been named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week as announced today by the Big Ten Conference. It is Danseglio's second Big Ten honor this season, and the fourth defensive honor of the season for the Terps.
Danseglio was instrumental in anchoring a Maryland defensive unit that held Penn and Michigan to a combined 15 goals in a pair of road wins last week. In total, the senior finished the week with eight ground balls and two caused turnovers. Six of those ground balls – a season-high – came against Penn.
The Islip Terrace, N.Y., native currently ranks fifth in the Big Ten Conference with 3.7 ground balls per game.
Danselgio and the Terps return to action Sunday at Penn State on Big Ten Network at 7 pm.
