Facing off
• The Terps clinched their first outright Big Ten title (and second consecutive) when they defeated rival Johns Hopkins, 11-8, April 30. With a win Saturday, Maryland athletics would claim its 15th Big Ten Conference title since joining the league in 2015 - the most among all Big Ten schools during that span.
• Sophomore midfielder Connor Kelly posted a career-high four goals in Maryland's emphatic 16-9 win over Penn State Thursday. The Terps opened the game on a 6-0 run and never looked back, as goalkeeper Kyle Bernlohr made 12 saves.
• Maryland is looking to win its fifth conference tournament title in history Saturday against Rutgers. The Terps are 25-1 all-time against the Scarlet Knights, including an 11-8 victory on April 16. Trailing 6-3 in the third quarter, Maryland went on a 7-0 run spanning more than 19 minutes to claim control.
• A program and Big Ten record seven Terrapins were selected to the Big Ten All-Conference teams: Kyle Bernlohr (1st), Bryan Cole (1st), Isaiah Davis-Allen (1st), Greg Danseglio (HM), Colin Heacock (HM), Tim Muller (HM) and Matt Rambo (HM). Bernlohr also made the Tewaaraton Award top-25.
• Junior Matt Rambo has totaled 11 points (6G, 5A) in two career games against Rutgers. The attackman tallied four of his five points in the second half of Maryland's 11-8 win over Rutgers on April 16. Rambo has totaled 13 points in his last three games.
• Maryland has stretched its winning streak to 12 games with its win against Penn State, matching the single-season program record for consecutive wins set by the 1987 team. Maryland's win streak record for multiple seasons is 31 games (1954-57).
• Junior Colin Heacock leads the Terps with a career-high 35 goals this season, scoring at least two goals in 13-of-15 games. His 12-game scoring streak is the longest of his career and the longest active Maryland streak.
• Maryland's seven-man defensive starting unit has played an average of 48 career games, led by Greg Danseglio (60) and Matt Dunn (58). Including the starting six on offense, the Terps have played a collective 690 career games - an average of 45 games per player.
• The Terrapins are 62-4 under John Tillman when scoring at least 10 goals in a game, including a spectacular mark of 43-1 over the last four seasons. That trend has continued this season with a perfect 12-0 mark. Maryland is also 60-4 when leading at halftime under Tillman.
• Junior Matt Rambo needs just one more goal to become the 13th player in Maryland history to reach 100 career goals. The last Terp to accompish the feat was Grant Catalino in 2010. Rambo has tallied a point in 34 straight games and ranks 23rd in Maryland history with 141 points.

• During the run, the Terrapin defense held the Ohio State attack scoreless for a span of 24:42, marking the third straight contest Maryland has held its opponent scoreless for a span of 20 minutes or more.

• The Terps found themselves trailing, 6-3, with 12:05 remaining in the third quarter before the offense caught fire, exploding for a seven-goal run and securing a lead they would never surrender. The win marked Maryland's eighth consecutive victory.
• The run, paced entirely by the starting attack unit, saw Maltz net three of his four goals on the day, while Colin Heacock (3G) and Matt Rambo (3G, 2A) each scored two of their three tallies, giving the Terps a 10-6 lead with 7:27 remaining in the contest.

• The Terps boast an all-time record of 775-261-4 (.740), dating back to the first varsity team in 1924 (a team was not fielded in 1944 and 1945 due to World War II). Maryland has finished every one of its previous 90 seasons with a .500 or better record, including last season when the Terps went 15-4. The program reached the 700-win milestone with a 15-6 victory over Penn on April 14, 2009 at Ludwig Field.
• During the decade of the 2000s, Maryland went 111-49 for a .694 win percentage, making it the winningest decade in Terrapin lacrosse history.
