
Six Former Terps Named MLL All-Stars

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Six former Maryland men's lacrosse players have been selected to the 2016 MLL All-Star game which will be held July 9 in Fullerton, Calif.
Maryland's six all-star selections were tied for the most in the League with Syracuse, while the next closest schools had three selections.
Terrapin all-time leading goal scorer Joe Walters ('06) leads the way with his eighth all-star selection, while Jeremy Sieverts ('09), Drew Snider ('12) and John Haus ('13) will be returning to the all-star game. Additionally, Brain Phipps ('10) and Michael Ehrhardt ('14) earned their first career all-star nods.
Current Maryland volunteer assistant coach Chris Mattes was also named to the all-star game as a faceoff specialist for the Florida Launch.
MLL veteran Joe Walters has totaled 20 points for the Chesapeake Bayhawks through five games played in 2016, posting 10 goals and 10 assists. Phipps has performed well on the other end of the field as the Bayhawks' netminder, posting a .541 save percentage and a 13.45 GAA.
Snider (3rd appearance) and Sieverts (5th appearance) have paired up to be one of the top offensive tandems in Major League Lacrosse for the Denver Outlaws. Snider currently ranks third in the League with 22 goals through six games played, while Sieverts has 18 points on 12 goals and six assists.
Ehrhardt leads the Charlotte Hounds with nine caused turnovers in seven games this season, while also adding three goals. His four points ranks third among MLL defenders this season. His teammate, Haus (2nd appearance), is currently riding a 10-game point streak and leads the Hounds with 22 points on 18 goals and four assists.
