Terps In the WNBA Update

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - After a month-long break for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, the WNBA season will start again Friday with the final four weeks of the season. 

Check out a weekly roundup on the six Terps in the WNBA so far this season.

MARISSA COLEMAN
(Indiana Fever)

Coleman is averaging 7.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists for the the Indiana Fever this season. The Fever is currently 12-12 and is third in the Eastern Conference after last year's run to the WNBA Finals.

Key date: Coleman and the Fever return to D.C. to take on the Mystics on Sunday, Sept. 11 at noon.

TIANNA HAWKINS
(Washington Mystics)

After sitting out last season with the birth of her son, Hawkins is back in the lineup with the Washington Mystics. She's averaging 4.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and is shooting 49.4 percent from the field this year. The Mystics are 9-15 this season.

Key date: Hawkins and the Mystics will host former Terp Crystal Langhorne on Sept. 9 and  Marissa Coleman and Lynetta Kizer on Sunday, Sept. 11

LYNETTA KIZER
(Indiana Fever)

Kizer is averaging 9.5 points and 3.0 rebounds this season. Earlier this year, she notched a career-high 21 points at the New York Liberty. The Fever is currently 12-12 and is third in the Eastern Conference after last year's run to the WNBA Finals.

Key date: Kizer and the Fever return to D.C. to take on the Mystics on Sunday, Sept. 11 at noon.

CRYSTAL LANGHORNE
(Seattle Storm)

Langhorne is averaging 9.0 points with 5.0 rebounds per game this season with the Seattle Storm. She has scored in double figures in 12 games this season. The Storm is 9-15 overall this season and is fourth in the Western Conference.

Key date: Langhorne and the Storm will play the Minnesota Lynx on ESPN2 on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. ET. They will return to D.C. to take on the Mystics on Friday, Sept. 9. 

ALYSSA THOMAS
(Connecticut Sun)

Thomas is averaging 11.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game for the Connecticut Sun this year. She dished a career-high seven assists vs. Los Angeles earlier this year. The Sun is 8-16 overall this year under new head coach Curt Miller.

Key date: Thomas and the Sun will host the Indiana Fever on ESPN3 on Sept. 13. They will return to D.C. to take on the Mystics on Sunday, Sept. 18. 

KRISTI TOLIVER
(Los Angeles Sparks)

Toliver is averaging 14.0 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game this season. She's shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 45.3 percent from outside the arc and 91.5 percent from the foul line. The Sparks own the best record in the WNBA at 21-3 overall. 

Key date: Toliver and the Sparks will play the Phoenix Mercury on ESPN2 Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.
