COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland men's soccer team landed at No. 4 in the NSCAA Preseason Top 25 rankings, released late Monday.
The Terps captured a fourth-straight conference tournament title a year ago, defeating top seed and host Ohio State in Columbus. Maryland advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship before bowing out to eventual national runner-up Clemson.
Maryland returns eight starters from a year ago, including All-Big Ten honorees Alex Crognale, Chris Odoi-Atsem, Sebastian Elney and Eryk Williamson. The Terps incoming recruiting class was ranked third in the nation by Top Drawer Soccer.
The Terps begin the 2016 campaign with a highly-anticipated trip to the West Coast for a battle with UCLA on August 26 before returning home for the Ludwig opener against Hartford on Aug. 29.
