COLLEGE PARK, Md. – University of Maryland head wrestling coach Kerry McCoy announced the arrival of 10 freshmen to the fold for 2016-17 season today. The class features state champions, National Prep All-Americans and InterMat Wrestling top-20 recruits.
“It's an exciting time of year with our incoming class arriving on campus and joining our program,” said McCoy. “Our staff did a great job putting this group together, and I'm looking forward to seeing them develop in the coming months. They're ready to get work.”

Brandon Cray – 125 – Hamilton, N.J. – Hamilton East (Steinert)
Before Maryland: 2015 & 2016 Times of Trenton Wrestler of the Year...2015 Colonial Valley Conference (CVC) Wrestler of the Year...2x NJ State Champion...won NJ state title at 113 pounds in 2015...captured second NJ state title as a senior at 120 pound...No. 6 prospect in the nation at 120 pounds according to InterMat Wrestling...won the first state title in Steinert wrestling history and only the third ever for Mercer County...Super 32 place winner...three-time Region 7 and District 25 champion...finished senior season undefeated...NJ.com 2015-16 lightweight to watch...finished fourth in the state at 106 pounds as a sophomore.
