• Playing in front of the fifth-largest crowd in Ludwig Field history, Maryland shut out No. 22 Michigan State, 2-0, last Friday night in Big Ten Conference action. Jake Rozhansky scored the game-winner and Michigan State posted an own goal as the Terps (6-0-2, 3-0-1 B1G) gave the Spartans their first blemish in league play.
• Northwestern (2-6-1, 1-2-1 B1G) defeated Michigan in double overtime for its first conference win of the season its last time out. Opponents are outscoring the Wildcats 14-8 through the first nine games. Brandon Medina, Elo Ozumba and Jeffrey Hopson each have two goals for Northwestern.
• Maryland is off to its best start since the 2012 season when the team matched its best start in program history at 14-0-1, which included a tie against UCLA. Of Maryland's eight games this season, four have been against nationally-ranked opponents including UCLA, Georgetown, Indiana and Michigan State.
• The Terps continue to dominate the conference offensively. Maryland is averaging 7.38 points per game, nearly three points more than second place Michigan State. The Terps are also posting 2.50 goals per game while no one else in the conference is averaging more than 1.68. With eight goals in 2016, Gordon Wild has double the scoring of any other player in the conference. DJ Reeves leads the league in assists with four.
