• Maryland caps a three-game homestand when it plays host to South Florida on Monday night. The Bulls punched their ticket to the NCAA Tournament a year ago, falling to Boston College in overtime in the opening round. USF is 0-1-2 this season with draws against Michigan and American and a 4-1 loss to Virginia Tech its last time out.
• Gordon Wild scored the game-winning goal with 44 seconds remaining as the No. 7 Maryland men's soccer team edged local rival No. 24 Georgetown, 2-1, on a picturesque Friday night at Ludwig Field. Eryk Williamson also scored for the Terps (2-0-1). The announced crowd of 7,413 was the fourth-largest in Ludwig Field annals.
• Wild leads the Terps in goals with three this season. The sophomore transfer from USC Upstate led the nation in goals a year ago with 16.
• Maryland's offense has been on-point thus far. The Terps are outshooting foes a staggering 47-20. The Maryland defense saw a 282-minute scoreless streak snapped in the 84th minute Friday when Achara scored for Georgetown. The Terps and goalkeeper Cody Niedermeier have surrendered two goals through three games.
