Terps of Tomorrow to Attend Homecoming Game

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Garrett A. Turner Foundation will hold its second annual Terps of Tomorrow event at the Maryland-Indiana football game on Oct. 28.  The program was a great success in the first year hosting a youth group from the Washington Nationals Baseball Academy who saw the Terps defeat Purdue 50-7. The foundation will provide opportunities for youth in the local area to annually attend a University of Maryland home football game.

The program is intended for elementary and middle school age youth who might not otherwise have such an opportunity. A primary goal of this initiative will be to inspire the youth of today to become Terrapins of Tomorrow.   The second recipients of this program will be the College Park Academy.  Area youth from this program will have an exciting day on campus while attending the Maryland-Indiana football game on Saturday.  In addition to the game, the group will take a tour of XFINITY Center and the new Cole Field House and hear from athletic staff on the importance of balancing academics and athletics.

The Garrett A. Turner Foundation is dedicated to addressing the financial needs of various non-profit organizations through the allocation of funds and volunteer resources. Our efforts are predominately focused on higher-education, childhood development, animal conservation, and medical research. Throughout our history we have raised over 250k in charitable contributions to support the prestigious programs we are most passionate about. Mr. Turner was recognized by the Baltimore Business Journal in 2014, for his charitable contributions and volunteer efforts in the DC/MD Area.
