COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The 13th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (1-1) will host Niagara (0-2) Thursday at 11 a.m. for the Terps' annual Field Trip Day game. The Terrapins will welcome over 5,000 local elementary and middle school students for the game.
The Terrapins offered free admission to all preregistered elementary schools and classes. These classes received free lesson plans aligned with Common Core standards, focusing on numeracy and literacy, while familiarizing students with the game of basketball.
A limited amount of parking is available for the Field Trip Day game for season ticket holders in Lot 4B or XFINITY Visitors Lot (XVL) free of charge. Fans parked in other lots around the XFINITY Center are subject to ticketing. Parking will be on a first come first serve basis and once filled, over flow parking is located in Regents Drive Garage at the hourly rate. Click here for a campus parking map.

This is the Terrapins' fourth meeting with Niagara. Maryland has won all three matchups. Last year, the Terps won 96-64 at Niagara on Nov. 20.
Maryland fell to defending national champion South Carolina (2-0) Monday night in College Park. Sophomore Kaila Charles scored 31 points, 27 in the second half, to lead the Terrapins. Maryland outscored South Carolina, 32-21, in the fourth quarter to cut the Gamecocks' lead to three with 38 seconds left, but the Terps fell just short.
Junior guard Eleanna Christinaki, who is eligible to play Dec. 20, scored 18 points for the Greek National Team Wednesday in a 61-59 victory in a EuroBasket qualifier in Greece.
Maryland is ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press poll and No. 13 in the USA Today Coaches Preseason poll.
After Thursday's game, the Terrapins will travel north to take on No. 1 Connecticut (1-0) Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the XL Center in Hartford. The Terps-Huskies matchup will be televised around the world on ESPN, WatchESPN.com and the Watch ESPN app.
