
#2 Terps Welcome Badgers in Pink Game

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The second-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (25-1, 13-0 B1G) will host Wisconsin (6-19, 1-11) Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. Wednesday's game will be the Terrapins' annual Pink Game to support the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and breast cancer awareness.

At 25-1, the Terrapins are off to the best start in school history. The Terrapins are ranked No. 2 in both the AP and the Coaches polls. They were last in the top two of both polls on Jan. 8, 2007 when they held the top spot.
The Terps are 4-0 vs. the Badgers. Most recently, Maryland won 83-77 on Feb. 25, 2016 in College Park. Shatori Walker-Kimbrough scored 27 points off five three-pointers and Brionna Jones scored 20 points. Brenda Frese is 5-1 vs. the Badgers in her career, including her time at Minnesota (2002-03). The Terps are 1-0 vs. Wisconsin in XFINITY Center.
Maryland won at Michigan State, 89-72, Sunday. Brionna Jones went 9-12 from the field and 10-13 from the line for 28 points with 15 rebounds in a career-high 39 minutes. Walker-Kimbrough scored 24 points and Kristen Confroy added 10. Destiny Slocum scored 9 points with 8 assists.
Walker-Kimbrough was named Big Ten Player of the Week Monday for the second time this year. She was also named Naismith National Player of the Week after averaging 26.5 points, 4.5 boards and 4.5 assists in the Terps two wins last week.
Walker-Kimbrough is No. 5 on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 1,958 career points. She is No. 10 among Division I active scorers. Walker-Kimbrough's career three-point percentage of 44.9% is currently the best in Maryland history ahead of Kristi Toliver's career percentage of 40.8%.
Jones is No. 4 on Maryland's rebounding list with 1,105 career boards. She is No. 8 on Maryland's scoring list with 1,703 points and is No. 20 among Division I active scorers. She currently leads the Big Ten with 18 double-doubles this year.
Slocum's 156 assists this year are nearing the Maryland freshman record for assists of 171 by Dara Taylor (171). Slocum also needs to make six threes to top the freshman record of 59 set by Toliver.
Jones is leading the country in field goal percentage (69.4%) for the second straight year. The Terrapins lead the country in scoring (90.0) and are No. 2 in field goal percentage (.507) and rebounding margin (+16.2). They are third in scoring margin (+27.3) and fourth in assists (20.6).
In Big Ten play, Slocum is leading the league in assists with 7.7 per game and Jones is leading in rebounding (11.5). Slocum is No. 3 among all league freshmen in scoring (11.2). Charles is sixth among Big Ten freshmen in scoring (9.8) and No. 2 in rebounding (5.4). Kristen Confroy leads the league in assist/turnover ratio (3.4).
The jerseys of Jones and Walker-Kimbrough will be honored in the rafters of the XFINITY Center immediately after the Terrapins' Senior Day game on Feb. 26. They've led the Terrapins to two Final Fours, two conference tournament titles and two conference regular season crowns. They have earned a record of 118-15 (.887) overall and a record of 62-5 (.925) at home at the XFINITY Center.
