MORGANTOWN, W. Va. - The No. 29 Maryland gymnastics team scored a season-high 48.975 on balance beam as the Terps scored a 195.450 Sunday afternoon at West Virginia. The No. 26 Mountaineers won the meet with a 195.950 while No. 24 Iowa State placed second with a 195.725.

"Every meet I'm excited, and I'm just so impressed with this group and how tough they are," head coach Brett Nelligan said. "To compete in two double meet weekends back-to-back, count no falls and score about 195s, it's unbelievable."

Maryland scored over a 195.000 in all six of their meets in February. The Terps didn't count a fall in any meet this month.

The Terrapins began the meet on beam, which was their strongest event of the day. Senior Sarah Faller led the team with a 9.850 while sophomore Shynelle Agaran and freshman Alecia Farina scored 9.800s. Junior Evelyn Nee tallied a 9.775, and freshman Kirsten Peterman led off the event with a 9.750. Junior Dominiquea Trotter earned a 9.725.

The Terps moved to floor, where the team earned a 48.925. Senior Emily Brackmuller led Maryland in the anchor spot with a 9.825. Farina earned a 9.800 and senior Leah Slobodin and sophomore Amanda Bertorello notched 9.775s. Peterman performed a 9.750 and sophomore Megan McClelland led off with a 9.700.

Maryland posted matching 48.775s in the last two rotations. On vault, Faller led the way with a 9.800. Peterman tallied a 9.775 and freshman Morgan Bixler scored a 9.750.

The Terps finished the meet on bars. Farina and Nee paced Maryland with a pair of 9.775s while Faller earned a 9.750. Peterman scored a 9.725.

In the all-around, Farina finished wtih a 39.100 while Peterman tallied a 39.000

The Terps are back in action on Wednesday for their final home meet of the season. Maryland hosts Temple, West Chester, New Hampshire and William & Mary at 7 p.m. in the XFINITY Center. The meet will be live streamed on BTN Plus.
