COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's lacrosse senior attackman Colin Heacock has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Terps' win against No. 8 Yale over the weekend.
Heacock was excellent in the victory over the top-10 foe, matching his career-high with five points on three goals and two assists in the game. Four of Heacock's five points came during a key 5-1 run during the second quarter which gave Maryland a 7-3 advantage.
The Catonsville, Md., native currently ranks fourth in the Big Ten Conference in points (4.0/g) and fifth in assists (1.75)/g). Heacock's five points against Yale gave him 100 points for his career, becoming just the 51st player in Maryland history to reach the milestone.
Heacock and the top-ranked Terps return to action Saturday, March 4, when they take on No. 4 Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.
