COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's lacrosse junior long stick midfielder Matt Neufeldt has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after helping Maryland defeat then-No. 1 Penn State, 15-11, over the weekend.
Neufeldt matched his career-high with four caused turnovers as Maryland handed Penn State its first loss of the season. He also picked up four ground balls, helping the Terps win 20-of-30 faceoffs from the wing.
The Naperville, Ill., native currently leads the Terps in caused turnovers (13) and is tied for second on the team in ground balls (28).
Neufeldt and the Terps return to action Wednesday night as they take on #5 Albany at 4pm in Albany, N.Y.
