Lewis Named to Lieberman Award Watch List

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore point guard Channise Lewis of the Maryland women's basketball team was named to the Nancy Lieberman Award Watch List, The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and Women's Basketball Coaches Association announced Monday.

Lewis is one of 20 candidates for the 2019 Nancy Lieberman Award. Now in its twentieth year, the award recognizes the top point guard in women's NCAA Division I college basketball. To be considered for this prestigious award, candidates exhibit the floor leadership, play-making and ball-handling skills of Class of 1996 Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman. By mid-February, the watch list of 20 players for the 2019 Lieberman Award will be narrowed to just 10.
