
Bracher Leads Terps at B1G Championships

LINCOLN, Neb. - Senior Emily Bracher turned in a solid individual performance for the Terps at the Big Ten Championships Sunday morning, taking 53rd in the field to pace Maryland's runners on the day. Maryland took 14th overall in the field, with its top four runners all placing inside the top 100.
Bracher maintained a steady pace throughout the race hosted at the Mahoney Golf Course at the University of Nebraska and finished in 21:37. The senior continued to finish as Maryland's No. 1 runner in every event she's competed in on the season.
Junior Kathryn Gearhart was the No. 2 runner for the Terps, crossing the line in 22:13.2 to secure 78th overall. Juniors Brittany Lang (22:31.7) and Paige Novak (22:52.8) finished in 87th and 99th, respectively. Junior Caroline Augelli finished in 101st individually with a 22:56.5 and sophomore Molly Barrick rounded out the Terps, finishing in 114th with a 23:26.9.
The Terps were just six points behind Rutgers (375) for 14th, finishing with a team score of 381. Michigan won the women's team title with 57 points and Wisconsin's Alicia Monson took first individually with a 19:49.3. Michigan State (75) and Wisconsin (89) rounded out the top-three.
The Terps will next head to State College, Pa. for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals on November 9. Maryland turned in a ninth place finish last year at the race.
