Austin Named B1G Freshman of the Week

Austin wasted no time making her presence known, averaging 13.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocks per game in her first two contests as a Terrapin.
In Friday's opener vs. Coppin State, she posted 12 points, 21 boards, 7 blocks. In Sunday's matchup with 2018 NCAA Tournament Team Dayton, she added 14 points, 6 boards, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Maryland was picked to win the Big Ten by both the league's head coaches and media panel, the conference announced last month.
The Terps return four of five starters from last year's NCAA Tournament squad and have opened up the 2018-19 season going 2-0 with wins over Coppin State and Dayton.
The Terrapins are ranked No. in the Associated Press poll released Monday and No. 10 in the USA Today Coaches Preseason Poll.

Next, the Terrapins will travel across town to play at George Washington (0-1) Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Colonials' Charles E. Smith Center. The Terps-Colonials matchup will be streamed online through ESPN+.
