SAAC Holds Annual TerpsGiving Event

BALTIMORE, Md. – The University of Maryland Student Athlete Advisory Committee gathered 30 different student-athletes from six different teams and assisted with handing out Thanksgiving meals to families in need at Amazing Grace Church in Baltimore.
Student-athletes unloaded trucks and packed 400 bags with thanksgiving meals, which included 200 turkeys. The rest of the meals were donated to a soup kitchen that Amazing Grace runs every Wednesday.
"TerpsGiving is one of my favorite events all year," SAAC President and volleyball student athlete Abigail Bentz said. "By taking a few hours out of our day, we're able to make someone's holiday better and are reminded to thank those who have helped us get where we are today."
This is the fourth year SAAC has collaborated with Amazing Grace Church for TerpsGiving.
