COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's lacrosse attackman Logan Wisnauskas has been named Big Ten Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week after leading the No. 2 Terps to a 13-6 win over Penn last week.
Wisnauskas scored a career-high five goals in the victory, marking the most goals in a single game for a Terrapin freshman since Matt Hahn scored five against Towson in 1995 – a span of 24 years. Hahn scored 36 goals as a rookie in 1995, which remains the program's single-season record for a freshman.
The Sykesville, Md., native has started all four games at attack to open his collegiate career, bettering his scoring output in each game along the way. His 11 goals through four games is tied for fourth nationally among freshmen.
Wisnauskas and the Terps (4-0) return to action this weekend when they host No. 8 Notre Dame (2-0) Saturday at 11:00 am at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. The game can be seen live on Big Ten Network.
