• The No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team will host local foe Georgetown for a midweek affair on Wednesday, March 28 at the Field Hockey & Lacorsse Complex. The game will air live on ESPNU with Jay Alter and Sheehan Stanwick Burch on the call.
• Maryland heads into this weekend's contest with a 8-1 record and No. 2 ranking. Last week, the Terps defeated two top-ten opponents, with a 13-7 win at No. 8 Penn and a 15-12 win over No. 4 James Madison in front of a record 2,531 fans at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex.
• Megan Whittle (36 goals, 10 assists) leads the team with 46 points, while Jen Giles (25 goals, 12 assists) stands right behind her with 37. Whittle leads the Big Ten in many offensive categories, including goals per game (4.00), points per game (5.11) and free position percentage (77.8%) and leads the country in free position goals per game with 2.33, after scoring a career-best six against UMBC. Giles is second in the conference in points per game (4.11), while leading the league in shot percentage (55.6%) and ranking fourth in free position goals per game (1.00).

• Megan Whittle and Grace Griffin recorded five points each to help the No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team (8-1) top No. 4 James Madison (8-1) 15-12 on Saturday afternoon. The Top Five match-up was played in front of 2,361 fans, setting a new attendance record for the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex.
• Griffin led the Terps with a career-best four goals, while Whittle and junior attacker Caroline Steele tallied three goals each. Whittle and Jen Giles paced the team with two assists each.

• Georgetown stands at 5-3 this season, falling narrowly to No. 6 Florida this past weekend, 16-11.
• The trio of Taylor Gebhardt, Emily Ehle and Michaela Bruno lead the way for Georgetown, all tallying over 25 points thus far.

• Maryland leads the all-time series with Johns Hopkins, 23-4.
• The two programs met last season in the nation's capital with the then-No. 2 Terps defeating Georgetown 17-13. Caroline Steele and Megan Whittle each recorded six points while Megan Taylor tallied 10 saves.
WHITTLE climbing up the all-time goal ranks
• In just nine games this season, Megan Whittle has jumped from six to two in the Maryland women's lacrosse all-time goal ranks, tallying 36 goals. Whittle struck her 250th career goal in the Terps last game against No. 4 James Madison.
• The senior attacker now has 250 goals in her career, passing Maryland greats Taylor Cummings and Karri Ellen Johnson on her path to the all-time lead this season. Whittle is just 18 goals behind Jen Adams (1998-01) for the all-time lead at 267.

STEELE CITY
• Junior attacker Caroline Steele has been on a tear over the past four games, leading the Terps with 10 goals.
• Against the Orange, Steele tallied a career-best seven points with five goals and two assists. Steele then followed that up, with a four goal, one assist game against Hopkins the following week.
• Steele notched her third and fourth consecutive games with a hat-trick against No. 8 Penn and No. 4 James Madison. The junior now stands second on the team in goals (26) and third in points (33) and assists (seven).
CONTROLLING THE DRAW
• As a team, Maryland is fourth in the nation and leads the Big Ten in draw controls per game, with 17.33. The duo of Kali Hartshorn and Meghan Siverson have been key to giving Maryland possession.
• Against UNC (2/24), Hartshorn posted a career-best 12 draw controls. Siverson followed that up with a career-high of her own, 13 draw controls against UMBC (2/28). The following game against Hofstra, Hartshorn and Siverson combined for 15 draw controls. At #8 Syracuse, Maryland won the draw control battle 22-8, with Siverson and Hartshorn combining for 13.
• Maryland has 156 draw controls as a team through nine games, with Siverson and Hartshorn combining for 88 of those (56.4%).
MAGNIFICENT MEGAN
• Over the past three games, Megan Taylor has been a force in the cage. The junior has 32 saves, with only 24 allowed, a .571 save percentage and only eight goals allowed per game. In a 13-7 win over No. 8 Penn, Taylor tied her season-high with 13 saves and recorded her highest save percentage of the season at .650 in the win at Penn.
TEWAARATON TERPS
• The Terps had five players named to the initial Tewaaraton Watch List, as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation on March 1.
• Megan Whittle and a quartet of juniors: Julia Braig, Jen Giles, Caroline Steele and Megan Taylor were all selected for the watch list.
• Whittle has now been selected for the Tewaaraton Watch List in three straight seasons. It's the second appearance for Taylor, while Braig, Giles and Steele are all on the list for the first time.
• Maryland has won won six straight Tewaaraton Awards and seven of the last eight.
Top Ten SUCCESS
• Last week, Maryland defeated two top-ten opponents in three days, taking down No. 8 Penn, 13-7 and No. 4 James Madison, 15-12
• This season, Maryland is 4-1 against top-ten foes, while over the past four seasons, the Terps hold an incredible 24-2 record against teams in the top ten in each of the major polls.
