Seven former Terps are in Israel competing for a world title
The Maryland men's lacrosse team will be well represented at the 2018 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championships, which officially kicks off July 12 in Netanya, Israel and runs through the final on July 21.
Seven Terps will compete in the Championships: Jake Bernhardt '13 (USA), Jesse Bernhardt '13 (USA), Michael Ehrhardt '14 (USA), John Haus '13 (USA), Dan Morris '18 (Philippines), Thomas O'Connell '19 (Puerto Rico) and Drew Snider '12 (USA). Additionally, Connor Kelly '18 and Tim Muller '17 are alternates for Team USA.
The 2018 championships mark the biggest international lacrosse event in history with 46 countries from six continents fighting for global lacrosse supremacy.
ESPN and ESPN+ have exclusive United States coverage of the tournament, with ESPN2 and ESPNU combining to televise 14 matchups across 10 days of play. In total, more than 160 games of action will be carried through ESPN.
The United States is seeking its all-time best 10th goal medal in the tournament, while defending champion Canada has won gold three times.

TEAM USA
Maryland's five representatives on Team USA are the most of any school.
Jake Bernhardt, who was recently traded from the Ohio Machine to the New York Lizards, is set to make his first Worlds appearance. He won the Major League Lacrosse title last season with Ohio and will feature at midfield for USA.
Jesse Bernhardt, who is currently the Terps' defensive coordinator and a star on the Chesapeake Bayhawks, is back for his second World Championship appearance. He is slated to start on close defense for Team USA.
Ehrhardt is in the midst of his best season as a professional, ranking fourth in MLL in caused turnovers (12) while also becoming a massive offensive threat for the Hounds. He currently has 11 goals, including three 2-pointers, on the season. Ehrhardt has proven to be one of the top long stick midfielders in the world.
Haus is with teammates with Ehrhardt in Charlotte, where they are currently clinging to a playoff spot with a 6-6 record. Haus is sixth in MLL among midfielders with 26 points on 15 goals and 11 assists. He will feature at midfield for USA.
Snider has been one of the top midfielders in the country the last few seasons and is looking forward to representing the US after narrowly missing the cut in 2014. Snider has one a pair of Major League Lacrosse titles with the Denver Outlaws, and has posted 21 points on 17 goals and four assists in nine games this season. Like Haus, Snider will feature at midfield for USA.
TEAM PHILIPPINES
The Philippines is set to make its debut at the FIL World Championships with Dan Morris as its starting netminder.
Morris, who finished his five-year career in May, was named a USILA All-American in 2018 and was the starting goaltender for the Terrapins' 2017 National Championship team.
TEAM PUERTO RICO
Like The Philippines, Puerto Rico will also be making its debut at the World Championships.
Puerto Rico will feature Maryland short stick defensive midfielder Thomas O'Connell, who started all 18 games at the position in 2018. O'Connell will be a senior for the Terrapins in 2019.
