ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Terrapin cross country team took on the 6000m course at the Naval Academy this weekend after a cancellation to the originally scheduled UVA Panorama Farms Invite.
Several athletes opened up for their first cross country race of the season along the rolling hills of the Navy golf course.
Christine Laurie notched a 3
rd place finish in the competition, her highest place finish of her collegiate career. The sophomore was the top Terp to cross the finish line.
Molly Barrick also ran her first race of the season, finishing in the top 10 overall for the 6k course. Barrick crossed the line in 9
th place overall and was the second scorer for the Terrapin squad.
Caroline Augelli remained steady in her second race of the season to cross the line among the top 15 finishers and placed third for the team.
Paige Novak opened up for her first competition of the season, placing 15
th overall and forth for the Terps.
Dallyssa Huggins rounded out the top five scoring positions for the team in her first time tackling the 6k distance.
Emily McAllister and
Maria Castellanos were the sixth and seventh competitors for the squad.
Next up for the women's cross country team will be the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, PA. The group will train for the next week before heading back into race action on September 29
th.
