
Maryland Gymnastics Announces 2020 Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland gymnastics has announced its 2020 schedule, which is highlighted by five regular-season meets at the XFINITY Center. The GymTerps enter the 2020 season following their second straight NCAA Regionals appearance.
"This year we have a great schedule full of exciting home meets," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "Fans won't want to miss a single competition this year."
Terps fans will be able to get their first look at the 2020 roster at the annual Black vs. Red meet on Dec. 6 in the XFINITY Center Pavilion, headlined by returning seniors Alecia Farina and Tiara Wright as well as junior leaders Audrey Barber and Collea Burgess.
Maryland will open its regular season at the Little Boston Invitational (Jan. 11), where they will compete with George Washington University and West Chester University. A week later the Terps will return to XFINITY Center for their Big Ten season opener where they will welcome Iowa for a Sunday matinee on Jan. 19.
The GymTerps will then begin their first of three Ohio trips of the season to compete with Big Ten foe Ohio State and CMU on Jan. 25 in Columbus. They will return home to host a Super Bowl Sunday showdown Feb. 2, with Illinois in their second of four dual meets this season. The meet will be featured live on BTN at 2 p.m.
Maryland will then travel to No. 14 Nebraska for a Big Ten dual scheduled for an 8 p.m. ET start on Feb. 8. The Terps will return home a week later to host Rutgers in their final dual meet of the season on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.
TheTerrapins will then travel to Toledo, Ohio to compete in the evening session of the Big Five Meet on Feb. 22. The Elevate the Stage session will include Maryland, Minnesota, Michigan, Penn State and Michigan State.
"Elevate the Stage is not only a great meet for the Big Ten Conference, it's one of the premier invitationals in the nation and we are thrilled to be a part of it," said Nelligan.
The Terps will return home the following Sunday to host to Temple, UPenn, William & Mary and Yale at 1 p.m. On Friday, March 6, Maryland will head north of home to visit Towson for a Tri-meet with local competitors Towson and George Washington. The road trips continue as Maryland will travel to Washington D.C. that Sunday (March 8) to meet with familiar foes George Washington, Towson, William & Mary and Yale.
The GymTerps final regular-season road trip features exciting competition in West Virginia with the Mountaineers, Penn and the No. 9 Kentucky Wildcats.
Maryland will close the regular season March 15 against NC State, North Carolina, New Hampshire and George Washington. The 7 p.m. start will be Senior Night for the Terrapins' senior class of Alecia Farina, Emma Johnson, Kirsten Peterman and Tiara Wright.
The postseason begins on Saturday, March 21 with the Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Sessions and times are to be announced. NCAA Regionals are slated to begin April 2.
