MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Maryland football team fell to No. 17 Minnesota, 52-10, on Saturday afternoon.
Maryland (3-5, 1-4 Big Ten) extended its takeaway streak to 20-straight games, the longest streak in the country, when Marcus Lewis recorded his first interception as a Terp by picking off Minnesota's (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) Tanner Morgan and returning it 40 yards in the second quarter. The Terps then used consecutive completions from Tyler DeSue to Dontay Demus Jr. and Carlos Carriere followed by a 33-yard run from Javon Leake to set up a Joseph Petrino field goal.
In the fourth quarter, DeSue threw his first career touchdown pass on a 59-yard score to Tayon Fleet-Davis, his career-long reception and third touchdown reception of his career.
Next week, the Terps will host No. 19 Michigan for homecoming at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. The game will kickoff at noon and air on ABC.
