
Tian Leads Terps at Illini Invitational at Medinah

MEDINAH, Ill. – Senior Xiaolin Tian of the Maryland women's golf team is tied for third after the first two rounds in the Illini Invitational at Medinah Monday at the Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Ill.
Tian went one-under par with a 71 in the first round, then shot a 69 in the second round. She is -4 overall with a score of 140.
Junior Virunpat Olankitkunchai is tied for 10th with her score of 141, which is three strokes under par. She shot a 71 in the first round as well, then a 70 in the second round.
As a team, the Terrapins are in fifth out of 15 teams competing. They are +1 through the first 36 holes with their score of 577 (288-289).
Maryland freshmen Maria Vittoria Corbi, Angela Garvin and junior Charlotte Lafourcade are tied for 39th with scores of 148, which is four strokes over par. Corbi and Garvin both shot a 74 in the first and second rounds. Lafourcade earned a 73 in the first round and 75 in the second.
Junior Laura Van Respaille earned a score of 77 in the first round and 76 in the second for a combined score of 153.
The Terps and the 14 other teams competing will tee off at 10 a.m. ET Tuesday with a shotgun start. Live scoring will be available here.
The Terrapins are competing against No. 5 Kent State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Kennesaw State, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Indiana, Augusta, Louisville, San Jose State, Oklahoma and tournament-host No. 19 Illinois.
This is the second year Illinois has hosted the Illini Invitational and this is Maryland's first year competing in the event,
