COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Junior running back
Javon Leake rushed for 80 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown, but Maryland was upended in its home finale, 54-7, by Nebraska Saturday afternoon at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.
The Cornhuskers (5-6, 3-5 B1G) were paced by Adrian Martinez, who completed 16-of-25 attempts for 194 yards and a pair of touchdowns to go along with 94 yards and one score on the ground. Backup quarterback Luke McCaffery also rushed 83 yards and a score.
In all, Nebraska scored four rushing touchdowns and threw for a score. Matt Waldoch kicked three field goals, while Harrison Martin tacked on another.
Maryland (3-8, 1-6 B1G) wraps up its season next Saturday when it heads to East Lansing, Mich., to play Michigan State. That game is slated for a 3:30 p.m. kick and will be televised on FS1.
