Maryland Track and Field Release 2020 Indoor Schedule

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The Maryland Track and Field team released its 2020 indoor competition schedule Wednesday morning.
After breaking several school records last season, the Terrapins seek to enter its most successful season yet. Here is the full schedule.
"I am looking forward to another record breaking season for our squad," Head Coach Andrew Valmon said. "Everyone has been working hard, building a base this fall and January will be the start of pushing our limits."
The team will open their indoor season Jan. 11, 2020, at the Nittany Lion Challenge in State College, Pa., for the third season in a row. At this meet last season, Cameron Vereen set his personal best in the 60m dash (6.89), earning a spot in the Terps' record book for a top-ten fastest time. At the same meet in 2018, senior Kameron Jones broke the school record in the 400m (47.43).
The following weekend, the squad will return to home territory at the Terrapin Invitational on Jan 18. in Landover, Md.
The Terps will return to Penn State on Jan. 31 for the Penn State National Invite. Destiny Ward (39.49) and Venida Fagan (39.78) seek to beat their own top-ten records in the 300m, which they set at this meet last season.
Maryland will compete in a total of five meets before the women's team takes on the 2020 B1G Indoor Championships at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio from Feb. 28-29, 2020. Last season, Alice Barnsdale threw a top-ten mark in weight throw (58-03.00m) at the B1G Championships.
Two weeks later, those who qualify will take the NCAA Indoor Championship stage from March 13-14 at the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico.
