2020 Indoor (Senior): Took home a second place title in his season opening 800m (1:50.94) at the Rod McCravy Memorial (1/24)...placed sixth in the 400m (47.74) at Penn State National (2/1)...competed in the 400m (48.14) and took home first in the 800m (1:51.86) at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite (2/8)...earned gold in the 500m dash (1:02.59) at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invite (2/15)...took home second place in the 200m (21.94) at Navy Select (2/21)

2019 Outdoor (Junior): Academic All-Big Ten... opened the outdoor season with a win as a member of the 4x400m relay team (3:15.32) at the Maryland Invitational (3/16/19)... placed third in the 400m dash (47.17) at the UNF Spring Break Invitational (3/21/19)... finished 12th in the 400m (46.52) and fourth in the 4x400m relay (3:06.61) at the Florida Relays (3/28/19)... won the 800m (1:49.79) at the UVA Quad Meet (4/6/19)... finished fourth in the 400m (46.96) at the Virginia Challenge (4/19/19)... finished second in the 4x400m relay (3:06.51) at the Penn Relays (4/25/19)... won the 200m dash (21.41) at the Kehoe Twilight Meet (5/3/19)... finished fifth in the 400m (46.17) and third in the 4x400m relay (3:08.14) at the Big Ten Championships (5/10/19)... finished 17th in the 400m (46.55) and 19th in the 4x400m relay (3:11.18) at the NCAA East Prelims (5/23/19)

2019 Indoor (Junior): Finished 13th in the 200m at the Music City Challenge (22.11)... Took first in the 300m at Penn State National and currently holds the school record in this event (34.10)... Finished 10th in the 400m at the Music City Challenge (47.70) … Took second in the 400m at the 2019 Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (47.85)... Took second in the 400m at the Simmons-Harvey Big Ten Invitational (48.04)... Took first in the 600m run at the 2019 Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (1:17.61)... Took first in the 600m run at the Nittany Lion Challenge and currently holds the school record in this event (1:17.51)... 2018 Outdoor (Sophomore): Placed first in the 4x400m relay (3:19.98) at Maryland Invitational… Placed first in the 4x400m relay (3:18.01) at the Virginia Quad meet… Finished ninth in the 4x400m relay (3:12.07) at the Virginia Challenge… Placed second in the 4x400m relay at the Penn Relays, Division 2 (3:10.41)... Finished seventh in the 4x400m relay at the 2018 Big Ten Championships (3:10.18)... Finished 18th in the 400m dash at USF Bulls Invitational (49.44)... 2017 Outdoor (Freshman): Competed at eight events…member of 1st place 4x400m relay team (3:21.17) and took 2nd place in the 800m (1:55.68) at the Maryland Invitational (3/18)…4x400m relay team finished 1st (3:13.72) and took 7th in the 400m (48.45) during the UNF Spring Break Invitational (3/24)…finished 11th in 800m (1:56.07) and took 2nd place in 4x400m relay (3:12.73) at the Virginia Quad (4/8)…4x400m relay finished 7th (3:21.02) and took 10th place in the 400m (48.44) at the Virginia Challenge (4/21-22)…captured 2nd place in the 400H (54.07) at the Kehoe Twilight Meet (5/5)…4x400m relay finished 7th (3:12.06) and finished 25th in the prelims of the 400m (49.52) during the Big Ten Championships (5/12-14).

2017 Indoor (Freshman): Competed at six events…4x400m relay team finished 4th (3:19.46) and placed 1st in the 500m (1:04.33) at the Wagner Invitational (1/6)…finished 4th in the 4x400m relay (3:17.20) and in the 400m (49.20) at the Nittany Lion Challenge (1/14)…finished in 8th in the 800m (1:57.93) during the Terrapin Invitational (1/21)…4x400m relay team took 4th place (3:15.23) and won the 500m (1:03.98) at the Penn State National (1/27-28)…had a top 10 finish in the 4x400m relay team (3:16.76) at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational (2/3-4)…took 5th place in the 600m (1:19.46) at the SPIRE NCAA D1 Indoor Track Meet (2/10-11).

Before Maryland: Ran track and played football at The Bishop’s School…named Coastal League Track Athlete of the Year in 2016…two-time CIF San Diego Section Division II Champion (2015, 2016)…five-time Coastal League Champion in the 400m twice, 200m, 4x100 and the 4x400…lists personal bests as 200m- 22.35, 400m- 48.45 and 800m- 1:56.52...named AAU All-American in the 800m in 2015…AAU Region 23 Champion (400-800) in 2015, 2016.

Personal: Son of Harry and Patricia Grooms-Jones…majoring in government and politics…sports hero is Allyson Felix…favorite pregame meal is waffles…lists biggest sports thrill as winning a CIF Championship…was also recruited by Portland State, Alabama State and Cal Poly Pomona…came to Maryland because of the resources.
