Di Rosa Named CoSIDA Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas – Maryland junior left back Matt Di Rosa has been named to 2019 Academic All-America® Division I soccer team selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced Thursday.

Di Rosa, a second team selection, is the program's first Academic All-American since 2007 and sixth student-athlete to win the award in history. In the classroom, Di Rosa holds a 3.95 GPA majoring in Information Systems. A two-time Big Ten All-Academic selection, Di Rosa was named the NCAA Elite 90 Award winner during last year's College Cup. That award is given to the student athlete at an NCAA Championship event with the highest GPA.

On the field, Di Rosa emerged as one of the top left back's in the nation in 2019. The Washington D.C., started all 21 matches and notched two assists while contributing to a Maryland backline that recorded 11 clean sheets. Di Rosa was a key contributor off the bench in Maryland's National Championship season in 2018, including scoring the goal that sent the Terps in the national final.
