RIO GRANDE, P.R. – The Maryland women's golf team finished the second round Monday in the Lady Puerto Rico Classic at the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort and Country Club in Puerto Rico.

After the first two rounds, sophomore
Virunpat Olankitkunchai leads the Terrapins with a score of 146 (75-71), which is two strokes over so far. She is tied for 11
th in the individual standings.

Senior
Ludovica Farina and sophomore
Charlotte Lafourcade are just three strokes behind Olankitkunchai with a scores of 149, which are +5. Farina shot a 76 in Sunday's first round and a 73 in the second. Lafourcade, competing as an individual, went even with a 72 in the first round and shot a 77 Monday. They are both tied for 26
th.

Sophomore
Laura Van Respaille is +7 with a score of 151 (77-74). Senior
Ludovica Scandroglio shot a 155 (81-74) and freshman
Elena Verticchio earned a score of 160 (79-81).

As a team, the Terrapins improved their overall score by 15 strokes from 307 in Sunday's first round to 292 in Monday's second round. They are currently ninth out of 14 teams.

Maryland is competing against No. 7 Arkansas, No. 47 Augusta, No. 63 East Carolina, No. 64 Indiana, No. 54 Iowa State, No. 41 Georgia, No. 15 Northwestern, No. 59 Virginia Tech, No. 45 NC State, Nebraska, No. 21 TCU and tournament-host No. 29 Purdue.

The Terps are currently ranked in the top 50 teams in the nation according to Golfweek and Golfstat. This is the second time in program history, and first since the 2005-06 season the Terrapins are ranked among the 50 best teams in the country.
