Throughout the 2018-19 season, umterps.com will run a Q&A series with members of the Maryland wrestling team and staff. Fans will get to know more about their background and wrestling history, as well as some fun facts they may not have known before. Next up: sophomore Danny Bertoni!

On entering the postseason as Maryland's starter at 141 pounds:
"It's an honor to represent the University of Maryland in our upcoming competitions. It's also really cool for me to be able to represent the state I grew up in. That means a lot to me."

On what he's most excited about heading into his first Big Ten Championships:
"I'm mostly excited about the competition. Every single match there is going to be a battle, but I'm excited for the challenge next week."

On what he's worked on most this year that has helped him be successful:
"I've just worked on being more aggressive. I wanted to be more physical in all positions. I think I've done a good job in doing that."

On what the biggest differences have been between his freshman and sophomore year:
"Weight management has definitely been the biggest difference. This year, I've done a much better job keeping my weight under control during the week. It's been a big focus for me."

On being one of six wrestlers to win four Maryland state titles in high school:
"High school was a great experience for me. Obviously, the level of competition is nothing like wrestling in the Big Ten. But, winning four state titles was an awesome accomplishment and something I'll never forget."
