
Terps in the NFL: Week Two

Each week throughout the NFL season, umterps.com will provide a roundup of all the highlights from the Terps action in the NFL.
Darnell Savage Jr. and the Green Bay Packers battled Stefon Diggs and the Minnesota Vikings as the Packers held out on top 21-16. Diggs scored his first touchdown of the season hauling a 49-yard reception to the end zone.
Savage Jr. looked like anything but a rookie after he recorded 6 solo tackles, a tipped pass that led to an interception by his teammate and a forced fumble in the win.
The Seattle Seahawks and Quinton Jefferson shimmied past the Pittsburgh Steelers and Sean Davis with a 28-26 win. Sean Davis had 5 tackles before leaving the game with a shoulder injury. Quinton Jefferson had a solo tackle in the win.
Byron Cowart made his rookie debut as the New England Patriots manhandled the Miami Dolphins in a 43-0 shutout win. Cowart recorded his first NFL regular season tackle. JC Jackson had 1 solo, 1 assisted tackle and 1 pass deflected.
Already a fan favorite, Ty Johnson rushed for 30 yards with an explosive 17-yard run to start the Lions' drive. The Lions took down the Chargers in their home opener, 13-10.
Vernon Davis had 3 receptions for 29-yards in the Washington Redskins' 31-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Lastly, two time Super Bowl Champion and Maryland great Torrey Smith announced his retirement after 8 years in the NFL.

On Thursday night, the Carolina Panthers fell to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite DJ Moore's 9 receptions for 89 yards.
