COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Each week during the 2019-20 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field or court, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week. This week's Solomon Eye Associates Terp of the Week is senior Kaila Charles of women's basketball.

Senior Kaila Charles of the Maryland women's basketball team was named Big Ten and ESPNW National Player of the Week Monday.
 
Charles led the 11^th-ranked Terrapins to a 70-55 win over No. 23 Michigan Saturday in College Park. She went 10-for-17 from the field for a season-high 23 points with 11 boards, three assists and three steals. She scored six straight points in a key stretch for the Terrapins in the third quarter.
 
Charles recently moved to No. 9 on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 1,685 career points. She moved past Christy Winters Scott (1987-90) with 1,679 points.
