
Maryland Gymnastics Opens Season at Little Boston Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland gymnastics team opens the 2020 season at the Little Boston Invitational on Saturday, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. The GymTerps will face George Washington University and West Chester at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass.

"We're excited to get this season started," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "We've been working hard this preseason adn working towards this every day. We're looking to start the season off with a bang."
The Terps debuted the 2020 roster at the annual Red & Black scrimmage headlined by seniors Alecia Farina and Tiara Wright.
In addition to Farina and Wright, Maryland returns juniors Audrey Barber and Sabriyya Rouse as the team's top contributors from last year. The GymTerps will also feature returning sophomore vault specialist Alexsis Rubio.
The Terps will showcase six members in the freshmen class, including standouts Reese McClure, Emma Silberman and Aleka Tsiknias. The freshmen trio is expected to make a significant impact in the Terrapins' lineup.
Maryland finished the 2019 season having earned the program's highest beam score (49.2) since 2004.
The Terps enter the 2020 season as the eighth-ranked team in the Big Ten and 33rd ranked team nationally.
Maryland will return to College Park to host Big Ten opponent Iowa in the home opener. Fans are welcome to the free event on Sunday, January 19 at noon in the XFINITY Center.
