Nelligan Welcomes Four for 2021-22

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Maryland gymnastics head coach Brett Nelligan announced the addition of four signees for the 2021-22 season on Wednesday morning.

"We are excited to welcome our newest GymTerps to College Park," said Head Coach Brett Nelligan. "In addition to being exceptional students, each one of them possesses the talent and work ethic that will help us achieve new and greater heights than ever before."

Lindsay Bacheler

Raleigh, N.C.

Before Maryland: Ranked in America's Top 100 Level 10 gymnasts (2019 & 2020) on bars, beam, all-around, and (2020) floor...Four-Star ranking on College Gym News…North Carolina State Champion in the All-Around (2019)...Was one of 36 gymnasts in the nation to compete in the 10th Annual Nastia Liukin Cup...Boasts high scores on Vault: 9.750, Bars: 9.9, Beam: 9.750, Floor: 9.750, AA: 38.750...Former club gym was Bull City Gymnastics...Member of National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars...Attends Crossroads Flex High School.

Coach's Comment: "Lindsay is a complete athlete and has the potential to compete in the all-around right away. Lindsay has that rare combination of power to produce big scores on floor and vault with the grace and technique needed for bars and beam, she is the total package."

Tasha Brozowski

Angier, N.C.

Before Maryland: Two-time Junior Olympic National Qualifier...Finished in top five at Junior Olympic Nationals on floor and bars (2018), finished top 10 on bars...2019 Level 10 Region eight Bars Champion (9.25)...2018 Level 10 State Floor Champion (9.725)...Former Club Gym was Raleigh School of Gymnastics...Member of the National Honor Society...Ranked in Top 10% of her class...Helped her high school team earn three state championship titles...Attends West Johnson High School.

Coach's Comment: "We're really excited about Tasha and everything she brings to the Maryland Gymnastics family. Tasha has a work ethic that is unrivaled and uses it to excel on vault, floor and bars. Her bar routine is among the most difficult in the nation and we feel she has the potential to set new records on the event here at Maryland."
